Towers Watson counsel makes a move

Rian Miller has joined Marsh & McLennan Companies.

Miller will serve as general counsel of Mercer, the company’s human resource consulting subsidiary. Miller is expected to report to Julio Potalatin, president and CEO and Peter Beshar, executive vice president and general counsel of the New York-based professional services firm.

Rian MillerMiller was most recently with Towers Watson, where she served as managing counsel for risk and litigation since 2010. According to Marsh & McLennan, the legal expert joined predecessor firm Towers Perrin in 1997, working principally on employment matters. In 2000, she became Towers Perrin's managing counsel for litigation. Then in 2007, her responsibilities grew when she took on the role of ethics and compliance officer. Prior to joining Towers Perrin, Miller was an associate with Pepper, Hamilton.

Miller graduated Magna cum Laude from Temple University School of Law.
