EW Scripps expands management role

EW Scripps has made changes to
its senior management team, with an expansion of roles for the corporate secretary and ethics officer

Julie McGehee, vice president of compensation and benefits, now takes on the
additional role of corporate secretary. As such she is responsible for
coordinating all activities of the full board and its committees, facilitating interaction between directors and senior management, and managing
the annual shareholders meeting.

Meanwhile, vice president and
general counsel David Giles has been named chief ethics officer. In this
new position he takes on additional responsibility for ethics programs,

policies and compliance across the company, and will also manage ethics training and investigations.

McGehee has been with EW Scripps since May 2008, when she was brought in to design, plan and
implement the company’s benefits and compensation strategies. Prior to 2008 she was manager of executive compensation at Duke Energy/Cinergy and
corporate secretary at Cincinnati Microwave. Giles first started at EW Scripps back in June 2004.

The appointments
follow the retirement at the end of July 2010 of the firm’s long-time secretary and chief ethics officer Denise Kuprionis.
