Seagate hires new CLO and corporate secretary

Kate Schuelke was most recently with Altera

Seagate Technology has hired Kate Schuelke as senior vice president, chief legal officer and corporate secretary.

Schuelke, who most recently served as senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary with Altera, now reports to Seagate CEO and chair Steve Luczo. A Seagate statement says Schuelke’s expertise includes intellectual property law, corporate governance, litigation, compliance, M&A and commercial transactions.

Seagate provides data storage products such as a game drive hub for Xbox.

A spokesperson for Seagate was unable to comment on who Schuelke replaced and where that person moved to.

According to her LinkedIn profile, Schuelke left Altera last year. During her time with the company she was responsible for the legal, internal audit and compliance functions and a member of management committees including the IT steering, information security, compliance and CSR committees, her profile states.

‘Kate’s global experience, deep understanding of the technology industry and excellent legal insights are critical to Seagate’s success going forward,’ Luczo says in a statement. ‘I’m very pleased she has joined our leadership team and I look forward to the many contributions I know she will make to Seagate.’
