SS&C hires Shearman lawyer as CLO

Joseph Frank also serves as global head of M&A

Investment and financial software company SS&C Technologies Holdings has hired Joseph Frank as group general counsel, chief legal officer and global head of M&A, reporting to chair and CEO William Stone.

Frank most recently worked at Shearman & Sterling, where he served as global co-head of the securities litigation and enforcement practice. According to his biography at the law firm, he has represented public companies, private equity firms and investment banks across a range of disputes and M&A/divestiture transactions, with clients including Apollo, Barclays, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, The Carlyle Group and Goldman Sachs.

He has also advised boards of directors and special committees in numerous acquisitions, divestitures and business combinations.

A spokesperson for Shearman issued a statement reading: ‘This is a great opportunity for Joe, and we wish him every success in his new role and thank him for his many contributions to our firm. He will be a real asset to SS&C, and we are looking forward to the opportunity to work together in the future.’
