Desiree Ralls-Morrison to succeed Timothy Pratt, who is retiring

Desiree Ralls-Morrison will join Boston Scientific on November 30, 2017 as senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary.

In her new position, Ralls-Morrison will be a member of the executive committee, with responsibility for providing legal counsel across the company’s global businesses and functions, and overseeing Boston Scientific’s global compliance function.

She will succeed Timothy Pratt, executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary, who announced his intention to retire from the company in April 2017, according to the medical technology firm.

Ralls-Morrison will join Boston Scientific having previously served as senior vice president, general counsel, corporate secretary and head of the global litigation, government affairs and public policy organizations at Boehringer Ingelheim USA.

Paul Fonteyne, president and CEO of Boehringer Ingelheim USA, says in a statement: ‘Desiree has been a trusted business and legal adviser, and highly-respected leader at Boehringer Ingelheim. We thank Desiree for her service to our organization, and wish her well in all of her future endeavors. I look forward to naming her successor in the coming weeks.’

Earlier in her career, Ralls-Morrison was general counsel for the Johnson & Johnson consumer group after being a senior attorney and assistant counsel at Merck & Co.

‘Desiree is an accomplished leader in the healthcare industry with deep expertise in broad-ranging legal matters and enterprise business strategy,’ Boston Scientific chair and CEO Mike Mahoney says in a statement. ‘We look forward to her contributions to Boston Scientific and the company’s continued growth.’
