Tennant Company hires new general counsel and corporate secretary

New hire succeeds retiring Heidi Wilson

Jeffrey Cotter last week joined Tennant Company as its new senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary.

According to the company, Cotter succeeded Heidi Wilson, who announced her retirement earlier this year. He is based at Tennant Company’s headquarters in Golden Valley, Minnesota. The firm designs and manufactures cleaning products intended to have reduced environmental impact.

Cotter most recently served as vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary of G&K Services, in which role he oversaw all the company’s legal affairs. He has experience in the fields of corporate governance, M&A, divestitures, litigation, securities law, regulatory compliance programs and commercial transactions, according to Tennant Company.

Thomas Frooman, senior vice president, secretary and general counsel with Cintas Corporation, of which G&K Services is a division, says in a statement: ‘I had the opportunity to work directly with Jeff Cotter during negotiations and closing of Cintas’ acquisition of G&K Services. Jeff was a consummate professional, protecting his organization’s best interest while working diligently to facilitate the acquisition. We certainly wish Jeff all the best in his future endeavors.’

‘Jeff brings a diverse background to Tennant Company, with proven experience as a trusted adviser and an able counselor,’ Tennant’s president and CEO Chris Killingstad says in a statement.
