Frank’s appoints new general counsel and secretary

John Symington previously worked at Seadrill Group

Frank’s International has appointed John Symington as senior vice president, general counsel, secretary and chief compliance officer, effective June 25. He will be based in Houston, Texas.

Frank’s is a global oil services company providing tubular running services, tubular fabrication, specialty well construction and well intervention solutions with a focus on complex wells.

Symington will succeed Alejandro Cestero, who the company says in a statement will leave Frank’s on June 29 to pursue other opportunities but will continue to support the company and senior management on a transitional basis for several months.

Symington previously served for nearly seven years in senior legal positions at Seadrill Group, including most recently as chief legal officer. Before that, he served as general counsel and corporate secretary for Enventure Global Technology. Earlier in his career, he was counsel at law firm Selman Munson & Lerner, where he advised on corporate matters including international practice, transactions and dispute resolution.

Michael Kearney, chairman, president and CEO of Frank’s, says in a statement: ‘We want to acknowledge Alex Cestero for his leadership in strengthening the company’s legal function and culture of compliance over the past three years… We wish [him] the best in [his] future endeavors.’
