Janus Henderson hires general counsel

Michelle Rosenberg has been with asset manager since 2003

Janus Henderson Group has promoted Michelle Rosenberg to the position of general counsel and company secretary of Janus Henderson Investors.

Effective immediately, Rosenberg now oversees the firm’s legal and internal audit functions and reports to co-CEOs Richard Weil and Andrew Formica. She will be a member of the firm’s executive committee and based primarily in Denver, Colorado. She is succeeding Jacqui Irvine, who has retired from the firm, according to a spokesperson.

Rosenberg most recently served as senior vice president and head of legal for North America at Janus Henderson Investors, a position she held since the merger of Janus Capital Group and Henderson Global Investors in May 2017. Before that, she was senior vice president and deputy general counsel of Janus Capital Group.

In her most recent role, she oversaw legal support for Janus Henderson’s North American business, including corporate and asset management matters across the firm’s investment strategies and vehicles for retail and institutional clients. She regularly represents the firm with regulators and industry groups. Before joining Janus Henderson in 2003, Rosenberg worked at Fidelity Management & Research Company.

‘After an exhaustive search, which included several highly qualified external applicants, we couldn’t be more pleased that we found our best candidate internally,’ Formica says in a statement.

According to the firm, Janus Henderson had roughly $372 billion in assets under management as of March 31, 2018.
