Granite hires new general counsel and secretary

Craig Hall joined the construction company from Oldcastle

Granite Construction has recruited Craig Hall as senior vice president, general counsel, corporate compliance officer and secretary, effective August 6.

Hall succeeds Richard Watts, who was recently appointed senior vice president and group manager for Granite’s Water and Mineral Services Group.

Hall reports directly to James Roberts, Granite’s president and CEO. He joined Granite from Oldcastle, where he most recently served as deputy general counsel for the firm’s western operations. During his 24-year career with Oldcastle, Hall’s leadership roles included work in the development and implementation of corporate legal compliance and ethics programs.

In his new position, Hall will be responsible for the general management of Granite's legal team and will participate in securities, corporate and board governance matters, and compliance.

Granite operates in the transportation, water infrastructure and mineral exploration markets.

‘Craig’s background in the construction industry coupled with his extensive legal, compliance and ethics expertise make him a valuable addition to our Granite team,’ Roberts says in a statement.
