Insys Therapeutics hires new top attorney

Mark Nance previously worked at pharmaceuticals company Mylan

Insys Therapeutics has hired Mark Nance as its new chief legal officer and general counsel.

Nance succeeds Franc Del Fosse, who is moving to a new position at Insys Therapeutics as senior vice president of corporate affairs and will work closely with Nance to ensure a smooth transition, according to the company.

Nance most recently served for five years as Mylan’s senior vice president and global general counsel. Before joining Mylan, he was general counsel of General Electric’s pharmaceutical and life sciences businesses, which specialize in diagnostic pharmaceuticals and other diagnostic and analytic technologies. He has also worked in the Office of Policy Planning at the US Federal Trade Commission.

Insys Therapeutics develops, manufactures and commercializes pharmaceutical cannabinoids and spray technology.

‘As we continue to transform the company and advance the pipeline strategically and with agility, Mark’s addition will be critical to our executive leadership team,’ says Insys Therapeutics president and CEO Saeed Motahari in a statement. ‘Mark brings to this position extensive experience in corporate legal strategy, an in-depth understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and an international perspective on business development that are essential to our long-term success.’
