NYSE-listed Franklin Financial Network, the parent company of Franklin Synergy Bank, has hired Steve Groom as executive vice president and its first general counsel.
According to the bank, chief legal counsel Julian Bibb oversaw the process of recruiting Groom and will remain at the company as senior vice president and deputy counsel.
Groom most recently worked at Nashville, Tennessee law firm Neal & Harwell. In addition to time in private practice, he has spent more than 27 years in executive and general counsel roles at large public companies.
Franklin, Tennessee-based Franklin Synergy Bank offers banking, investment, trust and mortgage products and services aimed at businesses, their owners and individuals.
Myers Jones, interim CEO at Franklin Financial and Franklin Synergy Bank, says in a statement: ‘Our board and executive management team are excited to welcome Steve. He has the skills and experience needed for a public company of our size and complexity.’
