Nasdaq-listed FLIR Systems has recruited Sonia Galindo as senior vice president, general counsel, secretary and chief ethics and compliance officer. She reports to president and CEO Jim Cannon.
Galindo is based at FLIR’s headquarters in Arlington, Virginia. She moved to FLIR from education technology software company Rosetta Stone where she had been general counsel and corporate secretary since 2015.
Todd DuChene, who previously held the position of senior vice president, general counsel, secretary and chief ethics and compliance officer at FLIR, left the company at the end of March to join Core Scientific as general counsel.
‘Todd’s leadership and expertise have been critical to FLIR’s success over the past four years,’ Cannon said in a statement earlier this year. ‘I’d like to thank [him] for his dedication and contributions to the company and we wish him the best in his future endeavors.’
Galindo began her legal career at the SEC and has since worked both in private practice and in-house. She was vice president, associate general counsel for corporate and secretary at Keurig Green Mountain from 2012 to 2014. Before that, she was associate counsel and assistant secretary at McCormick & Company from 2005 until 2008. She also served as ethics and employment counsel at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation from 2008 until 2011.
FLIR designs and builds technological tools designed to enhance perception and awareness, such as thermal imaging, visible-light imaging, video analytics and advanced-threat detection systems, that are used by the government and in the defense, industrial and commercial sectors.
In her new role, Galindo is responsible for all legal issues worldwide, including M&A, corporate governance, intellectual property, export-import, data privacy, cyber-security, ligation and employee law. She also manages legal corporate matters including SEC filings and reports, commercial contracts and legal aspects of complying with the international traffic in arms regulations and global trade rules.
