Providence hires next general counsel

Chinta Gaston retiring from company

Kathryn Stalmack has become the new senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary of Atlanta-based The Providence Service Corporation and its subsidiary LogistiCare Solutions, which offers non-emergency transportation services.

In her new role at the Nasdaq-listed company, Stalmack is responsible for all legal matters regarding the company including contracting, litigation, corporate governance and regulatory compliance.

She succeeds Chinta Gaston, who is retiring and had served as senior vice president, general counsel and secretary of Providence since January 2019 and as LogistiCare’s general counsel since 2003.

Stalmack was previously senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary of infusion and home care management company BioScrip, a role she had held since 2015. Before that she was a shareholder with law firm Polsinelli, where she worked in the healthcare practice group, and was a healthcare litigator at Donohue Brown Mathewson & Smith and Cassiday Schade & Gloor.

‘We are thrilled to have Kathryn join the team,’ interim Providence CEO Carter Pate says in a statement. ‘[Her] extensive experience as a corporate public company, transactional and healthcare regulatory attorney combined with her passion for the law makes her the perfect person to lead our legal team over the coming years.’
