The Andersons appoints next general counsel

Christine Castellano to join company in February

Christine Castellano has been recruited as the next senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary for NYSE-listed The Andersons.

Castellano will join the company and assume the role and responsibilities of Naran Burchinow on February 3, 2020. Burchinow will help with the transition until his retirement the following month.

Castellano was most recently senior vice president, general counsel, corporate secretary and chief compliance officer for Ingredion. She took on that role in 2012 having spent the previous 16 years working in legal roles of increasing responsibility in Ingredion’s and its predecessor companies’ US and international businesses. Prior to joining Ingredion, she was an income partner at McDermott Will & Emery.

Burchinow will retire after spending more than 15 years with The Andersons. He joined the company in his current position in 2004. Earlier in his career he was general counsel for several financial institutions in St Louis and senior counsel for a Chicago bank.

Maumee, Ohio-based The Andersons is a diversified company focused on agriculture with business operations in the commodity trading, ethanol, plant nutrient and rail sectors.
