Nordson hires new general counsel
Westlake, Ohio-based Nordson Corporation has hired Jennifer McDonough as executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary, effective November 1.
McDonough will report to president and CEO Sundaram Nagarajan and will head up the company’s global legal function in corporate development, corporate governance, ethics and compliance, intellectual property and other legal matters.
McDonough’s predecessor was Gina Beredo, who spent eight years at Nordson before joining Owens Corning in June as executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary.
McDonough is moving to Nordson from utility PPL Corporation, where she is vice president, deputy general counsel and assistant secretary. In that role she advises on general corporate law, M&A, corporate venture capital and investment transactions, securities and finance and other matters.
Before joining PPL in September 2017, McDonough was senior vice president, general counsel and secretary for Rex Energy Corporation. She led all legal, regulatory and compliance matters and served as the functional head of strategic communications for the company. Before that, she spent six years with Kennametal, starting as a senior corporate attorney before becoming assistant general counsel and assistant secretary.
She spent the previous four years as a business and finance attorney for Morgan Lewis, where her practice focused on corporate governance, M&A, divestitures and general corporate matters.
Nagarajan says in a statement: ‘We are pleased to welcome Jen to the team, as she brings extensive general counsel experience within public companies. Her holistic strategic view of how the legal function can support the company’s strategic development and execution makes her an excellent addition to Nordson.’
