Zomedica appoints general counsel

Karen DeHaan-Fullerton was previously at Exactech

Ann Arbor, Michigan-based Zomedica Corp has hired Karen DeHaan-Fullerton as general counsel and corporate secretary. She joined the Zomedica team on May 31.

According to her LinkedIn profile, DeHaan-Fullerton joined Zomedica from Exactech, where she had been associate general counsel. The profile states that she previously worked as in-house counsel at Elanco and before that at Zimmer. Earlier in her career she was a partner at law firm Sommer Barnard, now known as Taft.

In her new role, DeHaan-Fullerton is responsible for all Zomedica legal functions across regulatory, risk and compliance matters.

NYSE-listed Zomedica is a veterinary health company that provides point-of-care diagnostics and therapeutic products for pets.

Larry Heaton, CEO of Zomedica, says in a statement: ‘Karen is a welcome addition to the Zomedica team, bringing a mix of executive leadership experience and business development knowledge. Her wide-ranging expertise will augment and complement our experienced executive team as we continue to execute our business plan.’

DeHaan-Fullerton says in the announcement: ‘As a pet owner, I was drawn to Zomedica where the focus on pets, pet owners and the veterinarians who care for them is an important part of what we do every day. I am excited about joining the team and look forward to contributing to Zomedica’s future.’
