SAIC names former official as next general counsel

Hilary Hageman was deputy general counsel with SAIC until 2019

Hilary Hageman is rejoining Science Applications International Corp (SAIC) as executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary, effective July 11.

Hageman worked at SAIC as a senior vice president and deputy general counsel until 2019, when she became general counsel and corporate secretary of Cubic Corporation, a defense and transportation company. According to her LinkedIn profile, she became executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary at Terran Orbital Corporation in August last year.

Her profile states that before joining SAIC she spent nine years at CACI International, most recently as vice president and principal deputy general counsel. Earlier in her career she held senior legal roles at the US Department of Defense.


MAHON TO RETIRE
Hageman will succeed Steven Mahon, who has been SAIC’s executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary since 2015 and is retiring on September 30.

Before joining SAIC in November 2015, Mahon was senior vice president, general counsel, chief compliance officer and corporate secretary for MTS Systems Corp. Previously, he was vice president and assistant general counsel for Alliant Techsystems and chief legal officer and contracts vice president for ATK Aerospace Systems, a division of ATK. Mahon is a retired colonel who served in the US Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps from 1986 to 2012.

SAIC is a technology firm operating in the defense, space, civilian and intelligence markets. Its chief executive Nazzic Keene says in a statement: ‘Steve’s reputation for working tirelessly throughout his career, first during his service to our nation in the US Army and later at SAIC, is well earned and sets the standard for leadership in the practice of the law. Steve is going to be greatly missed and has the gratitude of everyone in our company for his dedication and commitment to our mission and a job well done.
