Corporate Secretary to issue research reports in Q4

Corporate Secretary will publish its first major research reports on in-house governance professionals during the fourth quarter of 2013.

Corporate Secretary, the governance, risk management and compliance monthly, will publish its first major research reports on in-house governance professionals during the fourth quarter of 2013.

The research, based on responses to a comprehensive survey of governance professionals at public, private and non-profit entities, includes demographic and salary information on more than 350 Corporate Secretary subscribers who answered the survey in August. Analysis of the top challenges governance professionals are facing today, insights on dealing with proxy season and the types of tools governance professionals need to tackle their jobs will also be included in these upcoming reports.

The magazine and website surveyed its audience of corporate secretaries, general counsel, compliance officers and other governance professionals to get a better understanding of what is most important to them as they seek to improve the governance practices at their individual companies. The report findings will provide greater insight into who today’s governance professionals are and greater understanding of how they are coping with governance-related issues. The reports will be made available toward the end of this year and will be reported on in Corporate Secretary.

'As you begin preparing for 2014, the insights from these Corporate Secretary reports could be very valuable in gauging what others in the governance space are doing and determining whether your company has similar concerns,' says Matthew Scott, editor of Corporate Secretary. 'If a high percentage of governance professionals see cyber-security as a major concern, for instance, you might want to check that your company is adequately prepared in that area. It might be worth considering making changes. In short, we hope this research will prove to be one more useful resource we can provide you with for benchmarking your department’s effectiveness.'
