Nominees for the Corporate Governance Awards 2013 announced

Short list of names of well-known companies being recognized for excellence in governance includes Best Buy and Google

New York, October 22, 2013Corporate Secretary today announced the short list of nominees for the Corporate Governance Awards 2013. The list includes well-known brands such as Best Buy, Google, Johnson & Johnson, Krispy Kreme, Monsanto and Zillow. These prestigious and highly coveted awards celebrate the best efforts of individuals, teams and companies in the world of governance, risk and compliance. This year, more than 100 nominations were received for the 14 categories. These were then reviewed by a panel of judges comprising industry-respected professionals including a former SEC commissioner and a former chairman of the Society of Corporate Secretaries and Governance Professionals. Master of Ceremonies for the Corporate Governance Awards 2013 will be David Brancaccio, host and senior editor of American Public Media’s Marketplace Morning Report, one of the most popular business news programs across the country. Brancaccio also anchored the award-winning public television news program NOW on PBS until 2010 and is the recipient of a Peabody, a duPont-Columbia, an Emmy and a Walter Cronkite award.
