Smurfit-Stone takes on new leader of general counsel

Craig Hunt has been tapped as chief administrative officer and general counsel of Smurfit-Stone Container Corporation. He has been promoted from the role of senior vice president, secretary and general counsel. 
‘Craig has provided critical leadership to the company, especially throughout the restructuring process. He will be a key member of the senior leadership team going forward,’ said Ralph Hake, chairman of the board of directors.
Hunt’s tenure with the company dates from 1990, when he joined the legal department of the former Jefferson Smurfit Corporation. He took on the role of general counsel in 1998. In his new role, he is responsible for all non-financial corporate functions and will continue to report to the chief executive officer.
