Advantage IQ names new vice president

Advantage IQ, a provider of strategic energy management solutions, has appointed Donato Capobianco to the newly created position of senior vice president and general counsel. In this role, Capobianco will provide legal advice on a wide variety of corporate and commercial matters for Advantage IQ and its subsidiary, Ecos IQ. 
‘Donato is an important addition to our executive team as we grow the business, leveraging the data we capture for our clients to deliver strategic energy management solutions that impact their bottom line,’ says Jeff Heggedahl, president and CEO of Advantage IQ. 
‘He brings a sharp technical and legal background with a creative, collaborative and strategic approach. His experience in both retail and energy/utilities uniquely qualifies him to bring both the client and company perspectives to the table. Additionally, his prior legal work in corporate and energy management, as well as bankruptcy and litigation, makes him a well-rounded choice to lead our legal team.’
Capobianco joins the company from Hollywood Entertainment/Movie Gallery, where he was senior vice president and general counsel. He was also responsible for supervising the company’s legal and real estate departments, and was head of the utility department. 
Capobianco earned his JD from New York University School of Law and his BBA from the University of Notre Dame.
