Watch: why automation is important

In this interview, Tom Edwards explains why governance professionals should consider automation.

In today’s litigious society, lawyers tend to create paper trails in order to protect themselves from unwanted lawsuits. But what happens when this paper trail turns into an avalanche of records? How do you start sorting through them and categorizing each document? The answer is simple: automation.

At this year’s American Records Management Association annual information governance event in Chicago, Tom Edwards, Feith Systems DC regional manager, discussed in his session titled ‘Automating your records lifecycle from acquisition to disposition’, why record managers and in-house counsel should start using computers and other electronic devices to lighten their workload.

In this interview with Corporate Secretary magazine, Edwards explains why governance professionals should consider automation.
