CSR 101 for Investors

Twelve-part series explores the impact of corporate social responsibility on publicly traded companies

A new segment 'CSR for Investors,' courtesy of 3BL Media, a sustainability communications firm, was launched yesterday on Reuters Insider. It is geared towards tackling some of the toughest issues surrounding CSR in public companies.

The video series provides an overview of corporate social responsibility while addressing the need for investors and traders to include CSR into their decision-making process. Another highlight of the piece is the analysis of CSR's effect on public companies.

Reuters plans to distribute the content generated from this documentary to over 550,000 financial professionals across the globe in anticipation of setting a new standard in the way industry pundits consume, research and distribute news.

'The integration of CSR issues has impacts on the bottom line for companies,' says Greg Schneider, CEO of 3BL Media. 'We are excited to work with Reuters...and bring environmental, social and governance news and information to the worldwide financial community.'

The segment features research conducted by Harvard and London Business School professors that further investigates CSR strategies in existing companies. Other news items will pay particular attention on banks, financial services, energy, consumer products, certain CSR practices such as ratings, integrated reporting and brand reputation management.
