NYSE Euronext unveils NYSE Governance Services

The set of tools and education resources will let companies improve their governance and compliance practices as shareholders and regulators pay closer attention to them.

Amid rising demand from companies for ways to take the lead in governance and ethic practices, NYSE Euronext (NYX) on April 23 said it is launching NYSE Governance Services, an integrated set of tools and education resources for public and privately held companies that want to distinguish themselves and gain a competitive  advantage through corporate governance, risk, ethics and compliance practices.

NYSE Governance Services uses the expertise of two NYSE Euronext companies -- Corpedia, which provides risk assessment and e-learning for ethics and compliance, and Corporate Board Member, which offers services for company directors and senior level executives. The new division will show companies how to govern ethically and mitigate risk while putting in place measurable practices to help them preserve standards that their shareholders, customers, the public and the law expect of them.

The complexity of an ever-evolving corporate governance landscape is magnified for companies operating in multiple countries and subject to a wide variety of regulations and accepted practices.

‘Corporate governance practices are increasingly critical to a company's overall performance, reputation and brand and are vital for maintaining stability and confidence in public companies and the corporate world,’ said Jean-Marc Levy, Head of Global Issuer Services for Euronext.

‘There is a growing demand among company officials for actionable, pragmatic and measurable tools at a time where the governance landscape is complex and rapidly evolving and shareholders, regulators and the public are applying greater scrutiny than ever.’

NYSE Governance Services enables companies to establish and maintain a culture of leadership, ethics and compliance that addresses all stakeholder interests, including those of senior level executives and board members. Pitched to public and private companies around the world, NYSE Governance Services offers an assortment of advisory services, training programs, benchmarking analysis and exclusive entry to peer-to-peer events and thought leadership concerning significant governance issues for company directors and top executives.
