Brendan Sheehan

Brendan Sheehan is the former Executive Editor at Corporate Secretary magazine, and is a leading expert in public company governance and compliance. He regularly lectures on cutting edge governance, risk and compliance issues and is a regular contributor to the debate on shareholder rights.

Prior to joining Cross Border, Brendan worked in London as a senior analyst for BoardEx, where he was responsible for analyzing and reporting on corporate governance and board dynamics at UK, US and other international companies. He regularly educated journalists and academics on practical implications on complicated governance matters while also authoring specific company management analysis.

His other professional experience includes being senior capital markets analyst MCM CorporateWatch, specializing in European high-yield, emerging markets and asset-backed securities. Brendan appears on panels at various chapter meetings of the Society of Corporate Secretaries & Governance Professionals across the US. He is a member the steering committee and a panel leader of the National Directors’ Institute, the second largest directors education organization in the US. Sheehan also appears regularly at various governance and compliance organizations including the Canadian Society of Corporate Secretaries and the SCCE.

He has been a guest on CNBC Europe’s Closing Bell and BBC 4’s Club Class, part of bi-weekly business program Analysis. He holds a Bachelors degree in Economics and Statistics from the Queensland University of Technology and has worked professionally in Australia, Germany, the UK and the USA.
