AECOM Technology appoints a new general counsel

Nancy Laben

Nancy Laben comes to AECOM from Accenture

AECOM Technology has appointed Nancy Laben to the position of senior vice president of legal and general counsel. She takes over from Eric Chen, AECOM’s former general counsel, who has moved into the position
of senior vice president
of corporate finance.

In her new role Laben not only manages the
company’s legal department but also oversees the
compliance and ethics program and is responsible for all SEC-related
disclosure requirements.

‘We are delighted
to welcome Nancy to AECOM as general counsel,’ AECOM president and CEO John Dionisio says in a statement announcing her appointment. ‘Her significant international experience, deep
expertise and proven track record
for managing global corporate legal activities will benefit us greatly as we build on our commitment to conduct business around the world with the utmost integrity.’

Laben does indeed bring
significant international legal experience to her new post: she has practiced law for more than 24 years, most recently as deputy general counsel at management consulting firm Accenture.

During her tenure at Accenture, Laben held
a series of increasingly senior-level roles and was stationed in various
offices throughout the world. In Hong Kong she held the title of managing director of legal services for Asia-Pacific. In London – as
managing director – she oversaw the company’s legal affairs in Europe, the Middle East, India and Africa.

Before working for Accenture, Laben worked in the law department of computer giant IBM. She received her law degree from the Columbia University School of Law.
