Newly stand-alone Fox Corp hires litigation chief

Jeff Taylor most recently worked at General Motors

Fox Corporation has hired Jeff Taylor as executive vice president and chief litigation counsel, reporting to chief legal and policy officer Viet Dinh.

In his new role, Taylor oversees litigation, labor and employment matters, content protection and compliance for all of Fox’s operations, including the Fox Network, Fox Sports, FS1, FS2, Fox Deportes, Fox News Channel, Fox Business Network, Fox Television Stations and its multi-platform assets.

Fox was spun off in connection with the Walt Disney Company’s acquisition of 21st Century Fox and became a stand-alone company on March 19. At that time it announced the appointment of Anne Dias, founder and CEO of Aragon Global Holdings; Chase Carey, chair and CEO of Formula 1; Roland Hernandez, CEO of Hernandez Media Ventures; and Paul Ryan, former speaker of the US House of Representatives, to its board of directors. They joined previously announced members Rupert Murdoch, Lachlan Murdoch and Jacques Nasser.

Taylor most recently served as deputy general counsel and chief compliance officer for General Motors (GM), where he was responsible for the company’s ethics and compliance program. Before joining GM in 2015, he was general counsel of Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems. From 2006 to 2009, he served as the US attorney for the District of Columbia, having begun his career as an assistant US attorney in San Diego, California.

‘Jeff’s decades of leadership experience in corporate and government roles coupled with his successful track record of creating, implementing and upholding rigorous compliance policies make him the ideal addition to Fox,’ Dinh says in a statement. ‘He will be an invaluable leader of the law and policy team as Fox continues to grow and evolve.’
