Cubic appoints top attorney

Hilary Hageman was previously deputy general counsel for SAIC

San Diego-based Cubic Corporation has hired Hilary Hageman as senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary.

Hageman reports to Cubic chair, president and CEO Bradley Feldmann and is now responsible for managing the NYSE-listed military technology company’s legal department. She also oversees ethics, contracts, global trade compliance and security issues.

Hageman previously served as senior vice president and deputy general counsel for SAIC. She has also worked in senior positions at CACI and the US Department of Defense.

‘Hilary brings experience in corporate law on a global scale, as well as deep industry expertise in government and commercial contracting and M&A to her role at Cubic. I am pleased to welcome [her] to our leadership team; we are thrilled to have her on board,’ Feldmann says in a statement.

Jim Edwards, who has held the position of senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary at Cubic, is shifting to an executive advisory role and will continue to provide support until he retires next June.

‘Since joining Cubic in 2008, Jim has been an integral member of our executive management team, leading and providing strategic counsel for our legal and corporate governance practices,’ Feldmann says in the statement. ‘On behalf of Cubic, our board of directors and stakeholders, I would like to thank Jim for his dedication and dynamic leadership throughout his 11-year tenure at Cubic.’
