Univar Solutions names successor general counsel

Jeffrey Carr to advise CEO before retiring next March

Downers Grove, Illinois-based Univar Solutions has appointed Noelle Perkins as senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary, effective November 1.

Perkins joined the company in March last year as deputy general counsel and assistant secretary. In that role she has led global compliance and enterprise risk-management programs for Univar Solutions, and has been the top in-house attorney for the US.

Before joining the company, she was chief counsel for the oilseeds processing segment of Archer Daniels Midland Company. Earlier in her career she was deputy general counsel for food processing machinery and airport systems equipment maker John Bean Technologies Corporation. She was also a litigation associate with Bell Boyd & Lloyd (now K&L Gates).

In her new role Perkins has taken over from Jeffrey Carr, who has become adviser to the CEO in the run-up to his retirement on March 1, 2020. Carr joined Univar Solutions in 2017. According to the company, he has driven the growth and development of talent within the company’s legal team and played a key role in the acquisition of Nexeo Solutions.

NYSE-listed Univar Solutions is an international chemical and ingredient distributor and provider of value-added services.

‘Noelle’s legal skill, business acumen and understanding of our global business make her the perfect choice,’ says president and CEO David Jukes in a statement. ‘Throughout her career, she has proven to be a valuable partner and expert in risk management, litigation and compliance. I look forward to her continued contributions to our company in this important role.

‘Jeff is a visionary, strategic leader and has contributed greatly to advancing our company’s disciplined commercial and legal processes. It has been my privilege to work with him and benefit from his counsel. I look forward to these next months as he advances our sustainability, privacy and data protection policies and wish him a long, happy retirement.’
