Boston Scientific appoints new general counsel

Vance Brown has been with the company for more than 20 years

Boston Scientific has promoted Vance Brown to become senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary and a member of the company’s executive committee.

He succeeds Desiree Ralls-Morrison, who became general counsel and corporate secretary at McDonald’s Corporation in April. She had been general counsel and corporate secretary at Boston Scientific since 2017.

Brown has worked at Boston Scientific for more than two decades, during which time he has supported almost every business, region and function across the company. He has led a number of groups within the legal and compliance department and most recently was interim general counsel. He has been vice president and chief corporate counsel since 2010.

‘As a member of the legal and compliance senior leadership team for more than 10 years, Vance has worked closely with senior leaders and preceding general counsel to accelerate a culture of business partnership and talent development within the function,’ the company says in a statement.

‘He is passionate about developing a truly global department, connected within and across regions, creating efficiencies in supporting the business, diversity of thought and opportunities for legal and compliance employees.’

Brown previously worked at law firm Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom.
