Foley & Lardner to recognize director of the year

Foley & Lardner is accepting nominations for an annual awards program that will recognize the outstanding achievements of corporate governance leaders.

Foley & Lardner is accepting nominations for its Director of the Year award, which will honor both a public and private company director who has made a significant contribution to developing effective real-world governance strategies for adapting to the changing industry landscape. The annual awards program was established to recognize the outstanding achievements of corporate governance leaders.

Nominations are currently being accepted through August 26, 2013 via a submission form on the Foley & Lardner website. Winners will be selected by a panel of judges from public and private companies across a variety of industry sectors.

‘We believe that publicly recognizing directors who have demonstrated the value that great directors bring to a board, management team and company, is a terrific way to inspire and encourage other directors to strive for similar greatness,’ said Steven Barth, partner at Foley & Lardner and program chair of the firm’s National Directors Institute. ‘Along with other prominent awards recognizing directors, we hope that our Director of the Year awards will help continue to raise the corporate governance bar for other directors and boards.’

The awards will be announced at Foley & Lardner’s National Directors Institute (NDI) Executive Exchange in Chicago on November 13, 2013. NDI offers a series of Web conferences and interactive programs throughout the year to help global and national business leaders address the latest developments in corporate finance and governance issues.
