Casey’s bringing legal chief on board

Katrina Lindsey to join company next month

Nasdaq-listed Casey’s General Stores has hired Katrina Lindsey as chief legal officer and corporate secretary. She will join the company in January and report to CEO Darren Rebelez.

In her new role, Lindsey will head up Casey’s legal, risk management, compliance, food safety, government affairs and corporate reporting functions.

She spent more than four years at The ODP Corporation – which operates Office Depot and OfficeMax, among other brands – as senior vice president, deputy general counsel, chief compliance officer and assistant corporate secretary.

She held roles on the company’s information security incident response team, enterprise risk management committee, diversity and inclusion council and sustainability governance council. Earlier this year she was recruited as chief diversity officer and senior vice president for business development at Varis, a subsidiary of ODP.

Before ODP, Lindsey worked at Darden Restaurants, leading the 1,700-plus restaurant chain’s legal team as senior vice president and division general counsel. Previously she spent six years at Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. She began her legal career advising on real estate and commercial litigation at law firms.

Casey’s describes itself as the third-largest convenience retailer and fifth-largest pizza chain in the US.

‘Katrina is a seasoned legal counselor and senior executive, with more than 20 years of legal leadership at Fortune 500 companies in the retail, restaurant and entertainment industries,’ Rebelez says in a statement. ‘Her deep, highly relevant background will benefit our teams and organization as we advance Casey’s strategic plan.’
