Foley Hoag expanding to Paris

Foley Hoag, is taking an active stance in enhancing its international arbitration practice as it unveiled plans to open an office in Paris, the firm announced last week.
 
The Paris office will be Foley’s first branch outside of the US.
 
At the same time, the international law firm has hired Bruno Leurent and Thomas Bevilacqua of US-based Winston & Strawn to lead the newest practice. Leurent joined the firm last week and Bevilacqua joined the company on June 27.
 
Both specialists will practice in the international litigation and arbitration sector, led by the firm’s Washington, DC and Boston-based lawyers Paul Reichler and Ronald Goodman.
 
‘As commerce becomes increasingly global, clients will need sophisticated legal counsel to help guide them when disputes arise,’ says Leurent, who is a partner at the firm. ‘This move will allow us to best serve our clients in Europe and around the world.’
 
Leurent specializes in a range of arbitration matters, including liquefied natural gas, mergers and acquisitions, hotel management, among others. Bevilacqua’s field is institutional and commercial arbitration matters; he counsels clients in major investor-state arbitration disputes, as well as on other civil and common law matters.

The Paris bar must approve the new outpost before Foley can launch its business there.
