Parsons appoints new general counsel

Michael Kolloway joined engineering company last year

Michael Kolloway earlier this week became senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary at engineering services firm Parsons.

He succeeds Clyde ‘Sonny’ Ellis, who has moved to the role of chief legal adviser to support specific corporate activities, having announced his intention to retire next year, according to the company.

Kolloway was previously Parsons’ vice president and deputy general counsel for the Americas. His background is in advising on litigation, employment disputes, ethics and compliance and transactional reviews. He joined the firm last year and is based at its Pasadena, California headquarters.

The company operates in a variety of markets with a focus on infrastructure, defense, security and construction.

‘For more than 10 years, Sonny has served Parsons as a consummate strategic adviser and has been a driving force behind our standing as a global leader in defining and advancing the standards of ethical business practices,’ Parsons chair and CEO Chuck Harrington says in a statement. ‘I am grateful for his professionalism and dedication and thank him for his leadership, as well as for his good judgment and wise counsel.

‘Mike has a wealth of knowledge and experience working on legal matters, and his background spans a broad spectrum of areas. He is a well-respected and recognized leader in our industry, and we’re pleased he has agreed to continue contributing to the growth and success of our corporation as our general counsel.’
