Five steps to enhance the board’s oversight of cyber-risk

Jul 24, 2014

NACD, in collaboration with AIG and the Internet Security Alliance, has just released its latest issue in the Director’s Handbook Series, Cyber-Risk Oversight.

The handbook is organized around five key principles to help directors enhance their oversight of cyber-security. It covers a wide range of board-level considerations, including disclosure issues, access to expertise and risk-appetite calibration, and includes tools such as self-assessment questions and sample board cyber-risk report dashboards.

Cyber-security is no longer an emerging issue. Major headlines about breaches in both the public and private sectors have put the issue on the agenda for every company ‒ and every board. Cyber-Risk Oversight provides practical guidance for corporate boards as they work with management to safeguard their company’s critical data assets.
