Syneos Health hires general counsel

Jonathan Olefson previously worked with Cotiviti Holdings

Raleigh, North-Carolina-based Syneos Health has hired Jonathan Olefson as general counsel and corporate secretary. In his new role, Olefson leads Syneos Health’s global legal, compliance and quality functions, reporting directly to CEO Alistair Macdonald.

Before joining Syneos Health, Olefson served as senior vice president, general counsel and secretary of Cotiviti Holdings, where he led the company’s successful transition to a publicly traded company. Before joining Cotiviti Holdings, he served as vice president and general counsel for corporate, M&A and intellectual property issues of Cognizant Technology Solutions.

The company has also hired Robert Parks as chief accounting officer. In that role, he oversees shared services, SEC reporting, Sarbanes-Oxley Act compliance and accounting policies/research, reporting to CFO Jason Meggs. Parks most recently served as senior vice president, corporate controller and principal accounting officer at IQVIA.

‘We are pleased to have Jonathan and Bobby step into these important roles as we continue to strengthen our leadership team and deliver on our mission to help customers bring life-changing treatments to patients,’ Macdonald said in a statement.

Courtney Schuster Kamlet, assistant general counsel for corporate and governance at Syneos Health, was recently named governance professional of the year (small to mid-cap) at the Corporate Governance Awards. For most of 2017 she was still working at INC Research, which merged with inVentiv Health that August to become INC Research/inVentiv Health – only to then change its name to Syneos Health in January 2018.
