Daimler Truck North America promotes general counsel to legal chief

Daimler Truck North America (DTNA) has promoted Nichole Tennyson to the newly created role of chief legal officer (CLO).

The move expands on Tennyson’s previous role as general counsel. As CLO, she now leads a team across North America and is responsible for all legal and compliance matters, corporate audit and external affairs. She also joins the company’s senior leadership team, internally referred to as the operating committee, which she will advise on risk and governance.

Tennyson joined DTNA in July 2022 having previously been associate general counsel at Tektronix, a Fortive company, since 2016. Before working at Tektronix, she was interim general counsel and corporate secretary at Erickson. Tennyson had previously worked in private practice as an associate attorney in the business law and intellectual property groups at Schwabe Williamson & Wyatt.

Portland, Oregon-based DTNA provides products and technologies for the commercial transportation industry, including medium and heavy-duty trucks, school buses, vehicle chassis and their associated technologies and components.

John O’Leary, president and CEO of DTNA, says in a statement: ‘Nichole Tennyson has proven herself an indispensable member of the [DTNA] leadership team.
