BD names general counsel

Medical technology firm Becton Dickinson and Company (BD) has named Michelle Quinn as executive vice president and general counsel for the company.

Quinn joined BD in 2019 and since earlier this year had been acting general counsel in addition to her previous role as senior vice president, deputy general counsel and chief ethics and compliance officer. Quinn took on the acting general counsel position when Samrat Khichi left BD to join CVS Health as executive vice president, chief policy officer and general counsel.

Before moving to BD, Quinn was vice president and general counsel of North America for Sandoz, a division of Novartis, and was previously vice president and associate general counsel at Catalent Pharma Solutions.

Quinn continues to report to Tom Polen, chair, CEO and president of BD.

[Her] deep experience in leading legal functions in a variety of healthcare companies has and will continue to benefit BD, our associates, the patients we serve and our shareholders through her focus on advancing the company’s business strategies and governance initiatives.’

Khichi had been general counsel and executive vice president for corporate development, public affairs and regulatory affairs since 2017. He joined BD through the acquisition of CR Bard where he was senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary. Before working at CS Bard, he was senior vice president, chief administrative officer and general counsel for Catalent Pharma Solutions.
